God sent his people a liberator, a judge. Before the creation of the kingdom of Israel, judges were chosen by God with the mission of protecting the people from enemies. Samson was one of Israel&#8217;s most important judges. God announced his birth through his messenger to the barren wife of Manue from the tribe of Dan. He will be consecrated to <\/span>God<span style=\"font-size: 16px; background-color: transparent;\">\u00a0from the beginning and will be the liberator of the Israelites. A child born to a barren mother was considered a special gift from God. As an initiate, Samson was supposed to abstain from intoxicating drinks, let his hair grow, and not defile himself by touching a corpse. His mission justifies the initiate&#8217;s sobriety. The liberator must have a sober mind, untainted by any intoxication that closes a person to the action of God&#8217;s Spirit. He must be able to distinguish good from evil, truth from lies. And that can only be done by a person who does not get drunk on alcohol.<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/nav><\/header><main>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<article class=\"post\">\n<div class=\"print-area\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><br \/><strong><span>The<\/span><\/strong><span> command to cut one&#8217;s hair meant the renunciation of pagan cults. The surrounding pagan nations practiced hairstyling and cutting in their religious services. God&#8217;s messenger imposed the duties of the initiate and his mother: she was not allowed to touch wine or anything impure. When Samson grew up, he began to liberate his people, who had suffered forty years under the rule of the Philistines.<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/main>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/gwmw><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/gwmw><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Even the Israelites, around 1070 BC, turned away from God, for which God punished them.
