{"id":8151,"date":"2024-12-22T13:37:24","date_gmt":"2024-12-22T12:37:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/predication.net\/?p=8151"},"modified":"2024-12-22T13:37:26","modified_gmt":"2024-12-22T12:37:26","slug":"sermon-on-isaiah-621-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/predication.net\/?p=8151","title":{"rendered":"Sermon on Isaiah 62,1-5"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dear congregation, today I would like to reflect with you\u00a0 on a passage from the book of Isaiah that can provide us\u00a0 with\u00a0 comfort and\u00a0 hope in times of\u00a0 uncertainty and change.\u00a0 For Zion&#8217;s sake\u00a0 \u00a0I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem&#8217;s sake\u00a0 I will not rest..<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">God does not remain silent for Zion. The text begins\u00a0 with a powerful\u00a0 statement. God will not remain silent. In a world where we often feel forgotten by God, this verse reminds us that He actively engages\u00a0 with\u00a0 His\u00a0 people. He\u00a0 is not passive. He hears the cries of\u00a0 the oppressed\u00a0 and sees\u00a0 the suffering of\u00a0 \u00a0the forsaken. This should\u00a0 encourage us\u00a0 to trust in God even in difficult\u00a0 \u00a0times.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The promise of righteousness and salvation. Isaiah speaks of righteousness shining forth like a light. This righteousness is not only for Israel but\u00a0 for all nations. God desires His\u00a0 salvation to be\u00a0 visible to all. In a world\u00a0 often marked by\u00a0 injustice, we\u00a0 are\u00a0 called to\u00a0 be\u00a0 light and hope. We\u00a0 should\u00a0 \u00a0advocate for justice\u00a0 and\u00a0 carry God&#8217;s love into\u00a0 the world.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 ,,A new\u00a0 name. God gives His people a new name. Forsaken becomes ,, Hephzibah&#8221;\u00a0 meaning\u00a0 . My delight is in her. This name change signifies identity and belonging, We too can know that\u00a0 in Christ we have\u00a0 a new identity. We are\u00a0 lowed\u00a0 and valuable in God&#8217;s\u00a0 eyes.\u00a0 This\u00a0 understanding should shape\u00a0 our lives\u00a0 and encourage us\u00a0 \u00a0to live out\u00a0 our identity.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The joy of God. The passage concludes with a wonderful\u00a0 promise. God\u00a0 rejoices over us. Just\u00a0 as a bridegroom rejoices\u00a0 \u00a0over\u00a0 his bride, so does\u00a0 our God\u00a0 rejoice\u00a0 over\u00a0 us.\u00a0 This\u00a0 joy\u00a0 is not dependent on our\u00a0 performance or behavior, but rather is an expression of His\u00a0 unconditional love. Isaiah is a\u00a0 powerful message of\u00a0 hope.
