This king&#8217;s ignorance of Joseph&#8217;s legacy signifies a shift in the relationship between the Israelites and the Egyptians.\u00a0 Joseph, once a savior and a leader, had become a distant memory. The new Pharaoh saw the growing population of\u00a0 Israelites not as a blessing but as a threat.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">In our lives, we too may face moments where our\u00a0 contributions and the\u00a0 sacrifices of\u00a0 our\u00a0 forebears are forgotten. We must actively remember our roots, our\u00a0 history, and\u00a0 the faith\u00a0 that has\u00a0 brought us to\u00a0 where we\u00a0 are today.\u00a0 Just as\u00a0 the Israelites had to\u00a0 confront a new reality,\u00a0 we\u00a0 too must recognize the\u00a0 challenges that arise when\u00a0 we\u00a0 forget\u00a0 our heritage.\u00a0 The Pharaoh&#8217;s response to his\u00a0 fear is\u00a0 to oppress the Israelites through forced labor. He enslaves them , subjecting them to rigorous and\u00a0 and\u00a0 bitter\u00a0 toil.\u00a0 This\u00a0 oppression reveals a harsh\u00a0 \u00a0truth; fear can lead\u00a0 to inhumanity.
