But Scripture gives us a different picture. Saint Paul says:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u201cIn him we live and move and have our being.\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>(Acts 17:28)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>God surrounds our whole existence. Every breath, every heartbeat, every new morning is possible because God sustains us.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The problem is not that God is absent. The problem is that we often forget that He is present.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>We can spend hours worrying about our problems without remembering God. We can work throughout the day without offering our work to Him. We can meet people without recognizing that God may be asking us to show His love to them.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>To live in God&#8217;s presence means to awaken our heart repeatedly and say: \u201cLord, You are here. I am before You.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>2. Jesus lived continually in the presence of the Father<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Jesus gives us the perfect example. His life was completely directed toward His heavenly Father. Before important decisions He prayed. Before choosing the Apostles He prayed. In moments of joy He thanked the Father. In suffering He turned toward the Father.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Even on the Cross He prayed:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u201cFather, into your hands I commend my spirit.\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>(Luke 23:46)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>This passage teaches us something important. Living in God&#8217;s presence does not mean that we will always feel peaceful or happy. Jesus experienced rejection, loneliness, suffering and fear. Yet even in those moments He remained united with the Father.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>We too can say in difficult moments:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cLord, I do not understand what is happening, but I know that You are with me.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>That simple act of faith can transform suffering. We are no longer carrying our cross alone.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>3. Speak to God during the day<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>How can we learn to live in God&#8217;s presence?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>We do not have to spend the whole day reciting long prayers. Sometimes a few words spoken from the heart are enough:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cJesus, I trust in You.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cLord, stay with me.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cJesus, help me.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cThank You, Lord.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cLord, I offer this work to You.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>These short prayers can become like spiritual breathing.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Before beginning our work: \u201cLord, bless what I am about to do.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Before meeting someone: \u201cLord, help me to see this person with Your eyes.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>When something beautiful happens: \u201cThank You, Lord.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>When temptation comes: \u201cJesus, give me strength.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>When suffering comes: \u201cLord, remain with me.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>In this way, an ordinary day gradually becomes a prayer.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>4. God&#8217;s presence changes the way we live<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>If we truly remembered that God is present, many things in our lives would change.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Would I speak badly about another person if I consciously remembered that God hears my words?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Would I deliberately commit sin if I remembered that I stand before God?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Would I despair so quickly if I remembered that God is beside me?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Would I ignore someone who needs help if I remembered the words of Jesus: \u201cWhatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me\u201d?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The awareness of God&#8217;s presence does not produce fear. Rather, it gives us peace, strength and responsibility.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A child behaves differently when he knows that his loving father is beside him. In the same way, the Christian lives differently when he remembers, &#8220;My heavenly Father is here.&#8221;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>5. Find God in ordinary things.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>We sometimes wait for extraordinary spiritual experiences. But God usually comes to us through ordinary life.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>He is present in the person who needs our patience.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>He is present in the work that must be faithfully completed.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>He is present in the silence of prayer.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>He is present in Scripture.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Above all, He is present in the Eucharist.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>At Holy Mass, the presence of Christ becomes especially profound and sacramental. The One whom we seek during the day comes to us under the appearances of bread and wine. In Holy Communion Christ does not merely stand beside us; He gives Himself to us.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>From the Eucharist, we should carry His presence into our daily lives.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>6. Never alone<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dear brothers and sisters, perhaps one of the greatest fruits of living in God&#8217;s presence is this conviction:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>I am never alone.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>People may misunderstand me. Friends may leave me. Age or illness may limit me. There may be moments when nobody seems able to understand what is happening within my heart.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>But God remains.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>When we wake in the morning, He is there.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>When we work, He is there.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>When we suffer, He is there.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>When we pray and feel nothing, He is there.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>And when one day we approach the final moment of our earthly life, He will still be there.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Therefore, let us develop a holy habit. Several times during the day, stop for just a few seconds and remember:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>God is here.<br \/>\nGod sees me.<br \/>\nGod loves me.<br \/>\nI am living in His presence.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Then our homes, our work, our suffering, our relationships, and even the smallest duties of everyday life can become places of encounter with God.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>And gradually our entire life will become one continuous prayer\u2014a life lived with God, before God, and in God.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Lord, teach us to live in Your presence.<br \/>\nHelp us to recognize You in prayer, in the Eucharist, in our neighbors and in the ordinary events of every day.<br \/>\nMay we never forget that You are near us, that You walk with us, and that in You we live and move and have our being.
