Man is essentially a perfect machine. Its parts are well interconnected; everything is where it should be: legs and hands, fingers, internal organs, the nervous system, blood vessels, and capillaries. It’s wonderful how the Most High created this perfect machine. Good work. Our spirituality has extraordinary value in this machine, as it brings this great work to life and takes responsibility for it. We give it an identity. The body gives us identity. The human body even has a built-in clock that ticks in the hypothalamus. They have multiple functions. From there, signals go to the body’s cells and tissues.

A person’s day usually begins when the retina in the eye detects light. It sends a signal to the brain. There, the signal is processed, and the brain recognizes that it is already light and that it is morning, waking up hormones that induce wakefulness and hunger. Hormones are regulated by a gene called Clock. It produces a protein that acts inside each cell and thus activates the corresponding genes for various activities. Sleep and wakefulness, hunger and thirst, but also blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature, and lung activity—everything is related to whether it is light or dark. Biological clocks have no wheels or faces, and yet they work perfectly. The problem can be if they start to fray – there is a lack of quality watchmakers to fix them.

I say to you, “Everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God… do not worry about how you will defend yourself or what you will say. The Holy Spirit will inspire you at that moment with what to say.”

Where does the darkness go when we turn on the light? Nowhere; it just hides behind the closet and waits for a good guy to be found before it goes out. Darkness is a special quantity; without it, we would not know what light is. And at the same time, without light, we would not know darkness. Light used to be a narrow-profile thing. People had enough darkness at night to look at the sky, and it is possible that, because of this, they already discovered a whole science through astronomy.

It is possible to fear that if they had had electricity in ancient times, they probably would not have discovered the stars and their connection with life on earth. True, people have long tried to overcome darkness, which they saw as a symbol of ignorance and uncertainty. The night was in the hands of evil powers. But also the discoveries of stargazers. Then Edison came along and created a century of light. Perhaps the world could use a little less light to delve again into the mysteries of the universe, which it still hides many of them and can only be deciphered by man.
