Concentration in prayer \nFrancis of Sales, as\u00a0 Bishop of Geneva, attended his parishes. He often went on horseback. He met many people on his travels. He once met a farmer who told him he could pray intently. Francis says to him: If you pray for our Father, I will give you this horse. The peasant began, “Our Father, who art in heaven, sanctify thy name.” And I get that horse with or without a saddle. With or without the saddle, you cannot pray intently. This event, which happened several centuries ago, characterizes us. We are so distracted by everyday life that we cannot pray intently. It is a problem for us to concentrate on prayer. Hundreds of things divert us from prayer. So we long to focus on prayer. We often confess. I prayed out of focus. How do we do this so that we can concentrate on prayer? Often people ask. Is it possible to pray everywhere? The answer is. Yes. You can pray in a vehicle or in nature. However, we need to isolate ourselves from the outside world. Prayer is a moment of quiet rest. In the beginning, we should be aware. I’m going to talk to God. The first thing to do is to ask the Holy Spirit for help. We read at St. Paul’s. We don’t even know what to pray for. But the Holy Spirit comes to help the weak. And elsewhere, we read his words. No one can say that he is the Lord unless he is in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit prays in us. The very fact that we want to pray is proof that the Holy Spirit is leading us to pray. In prayer, a flood of words is not relevant; the focus is on God. Prayer is not a way to postpone our worries. It cannot be. In prayer, we must focus on God, not our problems. Put God first. If someone approached Jesus with his request, Jesus did not reject him, except in one case when one person asked him to be a judge between him and his brother. We should hand our problems over to the Lord. In prayer, it is not our important worship but our devotion to God. In prayer, we should be aware of God’s presence, as well as God’s greatness and infinity. Someone said.
