Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Today, we celebrate the beautiful memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church. This title is not only a poetic expression of devotion. It reveals something profound about God\u2019s plan of salvation and about our own spiritual life.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When Jesus was dying on the cross, in the midst of suffering and abandonment, He looked down and saw His mother and the beloved disciple standing near Him. And He said to Mary: \u201cWoman, behold your son.\u201d Then He said to the disciple: \u201cBehold your mother\u201d (Jn 19:26\u201327).<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In that moment, something new was born. Mary became not only the mother of Jesus according to the flesh, but also the spiritual mother of all those who belong to Christ. The beloved disciple represents every Christian, every believer, the whole Church. Jesus entrusted us to Mary, and Mary to us.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The title \u201cMother of the Church\u201d was officially proclaimed by Pope Paul VI<\/span><\/span> during the Second Vatican Council<\/span><\/span>, and in 2018, Pope Francis<\/span><\/span> inserted this memorial into the Roman calendar to be celebrated on the Monday after Pentecost. This connection means a lot. After the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the Church appears publicly before the world, and Mary is there, praying together with the apostles. She is present at the birth of the Church just as she was present at the birth of Jesus.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mary is therefore not outside the Church. She is at its heart. She accompanies the Church with a mother\u2019s love<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n

What does a mother do?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A mother gives life.<\/strong>
A mother nourishes.<\/strong>
A mother protects.<\/strong>
A mother consoles.<\/strong>
A mother teaches her children to trust.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mary does all this spiritually for us.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

How many Christia<\/strong>ns throughout history have discovered comfort through Mary\u2019s intercession! How many people have found strength in praying the Rosary, peace in moments of fear, hope in suffering, and perseverance in temptation because they turned to their heavenly Mother!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

But Mary always leads us to Jesus, never to herself. At the wedding feast of Cana, her words were simple and powerful: \u201cDo whatever He tells you\u201d (Jn 2:5). These are the words she continues to speak to the Church today.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a world full of confusion, division, and anxiety, Mary teaches us faithfulness. In a world obsessed with power and self-promotion, Mary teaches humility. In a world that often forgets God, Mary teaches prayer and silence<\/strong>.presents every Christian, every believer, the whole Church. Jesus entrusted us to Mary, and Mary to us.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Church today needs Mary\u2019s maternal spirit more than ever:<\/strong>
\n\u2013 her faith when we are tempted to doubt,<\/strong>
\n\u2013 her courage when we face trials,<\/strong>
\n\u2013 her purity of heart,<\/strong>
\n\u2013 her perseverance beneath the cross.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mary remained faithful even when she did not fully understand God\u2019s plan. She stood beneath the cross when many others fled. She trusted even in darkness. That is why she becomes a model for every disciple.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus gave us many gifts: His Word, His Body and Blood, the Holy Spirit, and the Church. And among these gifts, He also gave us His Mother<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n

Let us therefore not be afraid to welcome Mary into our lives, just as the beloved disciple welcomed her into his home.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

May Mary, Mother of the Church,<\/strong>
\nhelp us to love Christ more deeply,<\/strong>
\nto remain faithful in difficult times,<\/strong>
\nto live in unity and charity,<\/strong>
\nand to become living witnesses of the Gospel.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Holy Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us. Amen.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
