\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>We have several references to this saint\u00a0in the Gospels. In addition to the well-known story about the overzealous hostess, we also find a powerful episode in connection with the death and resurrection of Lazarus, when he confesses: You are the Messiah who is to come to this world, and later again, as if nothing had happened, Lazarus is at the table, and Martha is serving. After that, she most likely also appears at the empty tomb, where she came with a group of women to anoint Jesus’ body. She is such an ordinary, honest woman of faith, with her faults, but a big heart that she serves… She does what is necessary; she does not get offended when she is reproached for something; she goes on because she believed. Yes, the faith that follows the promise allows one not to get stuck when something unexpected comes. So that he does not dwell on what is secondary and therefore unimportant for our salvation. As Christians, we are to value people and things according to their true value, not according to the immediate, excited, fleeting impression. Getting excited about something is not that difficult, especially for someone who is emotionally grounded. But to endure, to persevere, that is meritorious. It applies to marriage, it applies to religious status, it applies to priestly service. Advertisements from all sides attack us, the tabloids pull out the most impossible blockbusters, only to make a person waver, start to envy the team, what they have for this and that, lose confidence in a person who, I don’t know why, has become the prey of the media, lose confidence in the Church, which is only represented as the originator of scandals and greedy for possessions, and then he loses all strength and also throws himself into pleasures that make you forget about reality for a while. But it remains a reality, sometimes sad, but always connected with the hope that the reality of God’s presence, which is the most real and the highest value, will sustain and sustain us. What do you believe? Let us answer affirmatively together with Martha to the familiar Jesus: I am the resurrection and the life: whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.<\/span><\/p>\n
