{"id":9842,"date":"2026-08-17T09:01:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T07:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/predication.net\/?p=9842"},"modified":"2026-08-18T10:39:53","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T08:39:53","slug":"9842","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/predication.net\/?p=9842","title":{"rendered":"John 17,20-26"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The royal wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer on July 29, 1981, was celebrated as the <strong>\u201cWedding of the Century.\u201d<\/strong> It earned this title above all because of the extravagant and magnificent atmosphere that surrounded the entire event. The wedding was broadcast in 74 countries and attracted an audience of 750 million viewers. In the United Kingdom, the day was even declared a public holiday. An astonishing crowd of nearly one million people filled the streets of London, hoping to catch a glimpse of the royal couple.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although European leaders received invitations to the wedding, some declined to attend. Some did so because of political disagreements. Although the Queen did not publicly react to these refusals, she was certainly not pleased. Fortunately, today\u2019s invitations usually include RSVP information, allowing invited guests to decline politely.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Interestingly, in Jesus\u2019 time, refusing an invitation to a Jewish wedding was considered impolite and disrespectful. In the parable, the king symbolizes God, while the wedding banquet represents the wedding feast of the Lamb. The Gospel serves as an invitation to the heavenly celebration. The guests who refused the invitation in the parable represent the religious leaders of Jesus\u2019 time, while the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame symbolize those who were considered outsiders.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ask yourself: Would you invite a homeless person from the street to your wedding? What about the catering staff? Probably not! You invite those you care about to share in one of the most important days of your life. In the same way, the Creator of heaven and earth invites us to the wedding feast of the Lamb because He cares about us. We are God\u2019s beloved creatures. The celebration in heaven would be incomplete without you and me.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">We cannot pay our way into this wedding. Admission is by invitation. There is no entrance fee. Yet just because it is free does not mean that it is cheap. The cost is paid by the host of the wedding.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the parable, the king asks the guests to come to his son\u2019s wedding feast, but they refuse the invitation. Some even respond in a cruel and inhuman way by killing the messengers. Outraged, the king sends his forces to destroy them and burn their city.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Refusing a wedding invitation today will not result in your house being burned down. Yet the consequences for those who reject the King\u2019s invitation are serious. The Good News, however, is that Christ has already paid the price for our sins. Let us accept the invitation and join the wedding feast of the Lamb in heaven.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The royal wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, known as the \u201cWedding of the Century,\u201d was a magnificent and extravagant event watched by millions of people around the world. Some political leaders declined their invitations and therefore missed the opportunity to take part in this historic occasion.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jesus tells us that God invites us to the wedding feast of the Lamb. The invitation is free, but it came at a very high price: <strong>the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.<\/strong>By accepting this invitation, we begin a journey guided by love and grace. It is an invitation that transforms us and gives us the hope of eternal communion with God. The wedding for which we cannot simply register or buy a ticket reminds us that this invitation is not something we should reject or postpone indefinitely.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is a divine invitation that offers us the fullness of life in Christ.
