God or mammon. What do I value more?

Who do you like better: a man devoted to God or a mammon man? The Lord says, “Spend the number of your feast” (Luke 16: 2).

The foresight of the sons of the world forces us to use all available means and things to hear the words once: “Right, good servant, for you, have been faithful in a little, have power over ten cities” (Luke 19:17). We are to think in the ordinary things of life for the future, for our purpose in life. It is right to find time to pray. We know that we need to talk to God regularly. We can pray alone and even better together. How many brothers and sisters know and can and pray, when they travel, when they have to wait, etc. How many brothers and sisters, whatever their kind, not only begin and end with exaggeration but their work, even if they do not think directly of God during it, their work is a prayer. The intention that they want to be with God.

What is our priority in life? Count a little? God gives us 8,760 hours a year. Sociologists say we spend 3,000 hours of sleep, 3,600 hours of work, 900 hours of body saturation, 600 hours on the toilet, more than 500 hours on television. And the Lord God? Many today re-evaluate with whom to make friends, with whom to have contacts, to bring them acquaintance, connections, but they no longer think about the soul. We do not consider whether what we buy will benefit our souls. We believe that we procure under the influence of advertising, public opinion, but we forget that we become slaves to things, equipment, what is said, to have, to own. In the thought of Mary Brooks: The Touch of a Master’s Hand, it says: Many things were auctioned at the auction. Among other things, old dusty violins. The summoner thought that dealing with old violins was a waste of time. He picked them up and said, “What are you going to pay for them?” after a moment, he said quietly to those present, “What kind of instrument will you put now?” The supply for the violin was incomparably higher. What changed the price of the violin? Master touch. A souvenir for each of us.

We know what God believes in us. We know this and often do not act accordingly. It’s similar to a violin. It is right to realize that we must not be like the sons of the world, but we want to learn from them that by working with God’s graces, we can live our lives fuller, more precisely, and more confidently to eternal life. We each divide according to our responsibilities, into our families, and that is why it is right that we want to become salt, leaven, and light according to the words of the Lord Jesus, and so we will serve God, and that is what God wants from us for our benefit.
