The Course of the Sacrament of Atonement

1. Preparation – I ask my conscience.
Prayer before st. confession
Holy Spirit, help me know my sins, confess them sincerely, help me feel the pain and regret over them and give me the power to improve.
2. Pity – to be as sincere as possible.
3. Resolutions – the desire to correct oneself.
4. Confession of sins – I come to the priest, say hello, I bless, I will say when I was last at St. confession. After confessing sins, which I may have written, I will add that I do not remember more sins. I hear what the priest tells me and I remember repentance. Then I regret my sins, for example. My God, I love you with all my heart and therefore I very much regret that I offended you with sins. I really want to improve and protect my sin. Father, forgive me for the blood of Christ.
I will bend over at absolution.
5. – I will repent.
Prayer after st. confession
Lord Jesus, your mercy is endless. You have forgiven me through the priest all my sins by which I have offended you, my neighbors, and hurt yourself. Thank you and please help me to persevere on my way to you all my life.

Consider:

– What does your preparation for a confession look like? – They were your st. spovede Valid? Have you not concealed any grave sin? For if so, your st. confession and st. the communion was sacrilege. – You’ve gotten better at something since the last St. confession? – Old sins from which you have already sincerely confessed – you never have to repeat again.
– Before the holidays, there are often long advices before the confessional – you can hardly expect to be in St. confess for a long time or talk to the priest more, so take time outside the great holidays and do not postpone confession until the last day.
– Do you think the priest is interested in your sins? He can tell you more than you realize, he wants to hear that you have already realized and listens to you if you have unforgivable sins. They include eg. – If you are angry and do not want to come to terms under any circumstances, if you use abortive contraception in particular and do not want to stop – (this man also has this sin if he forces his wife, or just if he agrees with her sin) husbands without a sacramental marriage … Many of them do not even know that they cannot go to st. confession and st. receiving from the moment they started living together in the same household. Why can’t they go to confession? Because part of St. Confession is an attempt to truly improve and leave a sinful way of life, and in this case I will return to it again. And another problem is public offense. Those who know you may ask: How is it possible that they live together without marriage and go to St. receiving? May God – the Church have changed their commandments? The Church cannot arbitrarily interpret God’s law. She’s supposed to protect him. And it is not enough that you say within yourself – I do not consider this a sin – man is not a measure of good and evil action – the measure for us is God’s law. And if one does not obey it, it will certainly not lead to happiness.
– It is not enough to confess just by saying – I have sinned against the sixth commandment. Say clearly – I have sinned by sight, thoughts, desires, by deed with myself, with the other person, with the same-sex person, with the consecrated person … Each is a separate sin.
– This is also true of other commandments – it is not enough to say I have sinned with thoughts, words, deeds – sins need to be mentioned separately. My thoughts were proud, envious, unclean … etc. Not to mention that grave sins should also be expressed in numbers – how many grave sins I have committed, and to say the circumstances if they change the weight of sin.
– If you can’t tell – when can you still go to st. communion and when not – ask the priest in st. confess that it will help you to distinguish according to your particular sins.
– It is useful if you also confess from the temptations that are on you, it may weaken the intensity of those temptations.
– By daring reliance on God’s mercy, one who thinks in this way is sinned: – God, I will sin as much as I want, don’t worry about it, you just forgive me all for confession. This is insolence before God. It does not overlook those who think of the idea of sin in various circumstances of the sin – whatever, I confess. And he’s sorry.
Helpful Hint: Remember, God wants to forgive you every sin if you sincerely regret it because it infinitely loves you.
