In the word above, we hear the Beatitudes: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. If we want to see God, we must have a pure heart. This pure heart is also called an undivided heart. In the past, catechists, I gave the example of passionate people who want to achieve something, and therefore their whole life revolves around how to fulfill a shared goal. But what happens to this goal if their hearts divide? He longs for a girl, but he longs for more. He wants to overcome an obstacle, but it is also comfortable to stay here and do nothing. He wants to show that he is someone, but why bother? Any such division of the heart weakens our direction to the goal until we can completely lose it and get to the stage – it would be fair, I don’t mind if someone kicks me in, but I don’t do much for it myself.

What causes us to split the heart? The most common are worldly worries that suffocate the seed. Those immediate problems of everyday life, the surgery solution, know how to turn us into any enthusiasm, enthusiasm. We still hope that one day it will be different, and then we will finally be able to return to the essence we desire, in our case, a personal relationship with Christ. But operations are just increasing, our strength is just dwindling, and over time we will ultimately adapt to the trend; we are not even fighting. Therefore, that haunting everyday life and routine is the biggest obstacle to follow the Lord. To not fall into this trap, it is necessary to return to the places of original love continually. Please try to remember the goal, fight for that time of intimate encounter with Christ, where he can speak to our hearts. A community can be helpful here. We do not always manage to go before the Lord and have the grace of silence. We do not ever read spiritual literature that excites us, but we can still excite a person who is just rightly on fire today.

Another source of division is service to the two Lords. I can’t have two opposite life goals. You can’t overeat and lose weight simultaneously. You can’t keep your eyes on beautiful women while keeping them clean. Whoever wants a goal must also want resources. The devil is insidious in this. He can speak us in half – but you want to go to the Lord, you want to serve him. And you can’t afford that on this journey to satisfy any need for a moment? After all, you want to live modestly, and you are satisfied with your salary, but still, sometimes you improve, allow yourself more, which is that it is dishonest, But you want to be faithful in marriage, but sometimes you get a little lost on the Internet, you know There is nothing wrong with that. The problem with these small compromises is that they can completely control us. In time, it may happen that one no longer thinks of anything other than being able to indulge in one’s escape again. But then he no longer lives for reality, but only for those moments of escape.

This leads us to the division of the heart, which can be called – the non-acceptance of your cross. Dissatisfaction with his destiny, with his character. Is actually dissatisfaction with God. How can I say that I love God when I constantly accuse him of failing to do something? Of course, we don’t do it consciously. Namely, when I do not accept my destiny, my body, my parents, I subconsciously blame God. After all, he could have created me differently, elsewhere, and he could have arranged to.

Our reluctance to lose ourselves can also divide our hearts. Even in the spiritual life, a great temptation of self-realization awaits us. When I am not looking for the kingdom of God, but for myself, my self-realization, my fulfillment. Although I do many religious and beautiful things, I do them in the same style as when someone builds a career, solves their complexes, fills themselves. Everything is upside down here. For I seek not Christ, neither submit I unto Christ, but seek man, and Christ is only a means of finding a man.

When we look at these sources of the division of the heart, we find that they originate in human immaturity. Therefore, let us use the time of the holidays and work on our human maturity. When we are in situations other than normal, and therefore we have a better chance of seeing ourselves without a mask, as we are. Instead of offending and disgusting ourselves, let us surrender to the Lord and ask for help in transforming ourselves.

We are at the beginning of the holidays when we need a source of strength so that we do not cool down in the spiritual life, or so that we can start again. Such a period without a regular rhythm of life can upset us, easily contributes to the division of the heart and the loss of direction. That is why we often remember our goal – to have Christ as the only meaning of life. And let’s be an encouragement to each other in this.
